World Blind Golf celebrates Christmas at Meadow Park

DECEMBER 9, 2022

What better way to celebrate World Blind Golf’s first year than a game of golf at the lush 9-hole Meadow Park on the Gold Coast.

We had more than 22 blind golfers and supporters come along to help celebrate.

After the fun 9-holes, we were treated to platters of food supplied by our hosts, Meadow Park Golf Course at Tallebudgera o n Queensland’s Gold Coast.

Four groups played the fun 9 hole course and tested out World Blind Golf’s new “Tee See” golf description and orientation concept.

Each tee-box on the course had a special Tee See code which allows the golfer to instantly hear an audio description of the hole.
All tests proved very successful – all golfers, regardless of their vision were able to scan around the tee box and if a code was present, their phone loaded and spoke the description for the hole, including information on the distance, details of all hazards and other special features of the hole.

World Blind GFolf would also like to thank our technology partner, NAVILENS. They’ve worked hard to develop the core technology powering Tee See and their help with helping us deploy and manage our Tee See tests is greatly appreciated. Thanks to the NAVILENS team!

World Blind Golf will continue to work with our partner Navilens to develop the next stage of Tee See, ready for deployment to golf courses around the world very soon!
