Step onto the fairways for one of the most inspiring and inclusive golf tournaments in Australia – the 2025 World Blind Golf Brisbane Open, held on 15 September at the stunning Virginia Golf Club.

This 18-hole Stableford competition brings together blind, vision-impaired, all-abilities, juniors, and seniors in a single unforgettable day of golf, friendship, and celebration. Whether you’re a seasoned player or swinging a club for the first time, this event is for you.

At World Blind Golf, we believe golf belongs to everyone – and that means no medical tests, no vision assessments, no barriers. If you live with any type of disability or eye condition, you are welcome to play. The Blind and Vision-Impaired Trophy Division is reserved for legally blind golfers, but everyone can compete for prizes, enjoy the day, and be part of something bigger.


What’s Included

  • $90 entry covers green fees, snacks, and a shared buggy

  • A friendly handicap will be assigned if you don’t have one – no worries!

  • Tee-off at 9:00 AM, with on-course support and volunteers ready to help

  • Presentation at 3:00 PM featuring guest speakers, trophies, and laughter

  • A chance to meet other passionate players, make new friends, and celebrate ability in action

This event is an 18-hole Stableford competition, open to all golfers with a disability and played in a spirit of inclusion, respect, and fairness.

The World Blind Golf Brisbane Open is proudly organised by World Blind Golf, a local volunteer-run not-for-profit charity committed to making golf accessible and enjoyable for people with vision impairment and other disabilities.

  • The competition format is Stableford over 18 holes. Other adjustments or sub-categories may be announced on the day, depending on player numbers and divisions.

  • All players must respect the pace of play and course etiquette as outlined by Virginia Golf Club.

  • Golfers are responsible for their own personal safety during the event.

  • Caddies, guides, or support persons are welcome.

  • World Blind Golf reserves the right to restrict or refuse entry to any person for any reason, at its sole discretion.
